Steve Anderson - Instructor

 Steve Anderson joined the TIBBS staff after moving to Sioux Falls from his hometown, Rapid City, in 2008. Most recently he was an assistant boys’ basketball coach at Rapid City Stevens High School during the 07-08 season.  During his time in Rapid, he was also an assistant coach at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and also conducted individual basketball workouts at his own Anderson Basketball Academy.

Prior to moving back to Rapid City, Steve played professionally in Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga where he was the 3rd leading scorer in the league in his final year of competition.

While in Germany, he also was the head coach for two successful 16U Boys and Girls traveling teams.

Steve attended the University of South Dakota where he finished his career as the 6th all-time leading rebounder (753) and 3rd all-time leading shot blocker (143).  He currently is the record holder for single game rebounds in a game at the Dakota Dome with 22. Steve was a member of the 2005 NCC tournament championship team which also won a USD record 27 games.

In a standout high school career at Rapid City Central, Steve was named Mr. Basketball in South Dakota in 2000 as well as being named the 2000 Coaches Player of the Year. He was a first team all-state member in 1998, 1999, and 2000. He was also a member of the Argus Leader First Five in 1999 and 2000.

Currently, Steve resides in Rapid City where he operates the Anderson Basketball Academy.  He is also a realtor in the Black Hills area based out of Rapid.
